A heart disease can occur in any person. It can be genetic and can also be acquired during adulthood due to a lot of factors. Having a heart disease is never easy. There are a lot of things that you cannot do and some of your favorite foods can become a big no-no. At some point in life, we can say that having a heart disease is, perhaps, a bad luck. However, for a 5-year old Marty Viau, this is not the way it is. Despite having an Atrial Septal Defect since birth, he sees life so differently. He lives like ordinary people do. He plays, he sings, he dance, he simply do whatever he wants.
Marty is just a kid, but because of his courage and hope to get well soon, he was chosen to be an ambassador to show the true meaning of a ‘warrior at heart.’ Today, Marty, an ordinary kid is far more than anybody else. He is thriving and continuously discovering new things every day. Most of all he is happy.
Having a heart disease is not easy, but Marty’s story is just one of a kind that tells us not to think too much about it. Being too conscious about the disease we are dealing with will make us miss the parts in life, where there should have been colorful memories. What is even worth emulating about Marty is his will to fight, despite he’s very young. In fact, courage always depends on us, whether or not we are strong enough to take it. The best choice is we should be happy because life is worth living for.
